Just Add Ink #366...Just Add "A"

Over at Just Add Ink we have a fun new challenge from Tina. She has suggested we add "A" to our projects.
The first thing that popped into my mind was Animals and as l have been playing with inky techniques a little, l thought l would create an Aurora effect for this little guy from the "A little wild" set to do some stargazing.
It's clean, simple, super sparkly (hard to capture) and was a whole lot of fun!

Don't forget to stop by the challenge blog for lots of awesome inspiration from the rest of the design team.

SKY-How too!.... For those that have asked, here is what l did to create the the aurora/sky effect.

Watercolour paper.
Sponged in and ombre effect Tempting Turquoise-Island Indigo-Night of Navy.
Dip your fingers in a bowl of water and let drip onto inked area and then flick your fingers to remove remaining water and create a speckled effect.
Don't be tempted to heat dry, the longer you let the ink pigments wick out, the better and more natural the effect.
Once dry, l added some silver details for some fine sparkle and stars using silver glimmer paper and the retired star border punch...It had to have sparkles..:0)

Colour INKspiration #12

 Colour INKspiration

Time to share a brand new Colour INKspiration challenge. This one is full of colours and you get to choose! As long as you use at least four in your project they can be any combination you like.

My colours are Night of Navy-Cajun Craze-Dapper Denim-Smoky Slate & Whisper White. I was very tempted to go for colours that l'm comfortable playing with, but decided to stretch myself and go for some of the more masculine tones and create a card for my nephew.
I actually created a couple of variations layering the 'Happy Birthday" over various backgrounds...As much as l like all three, l think my fave is the cleaner style of the white background.

If you are following the hop you would have just arrived from the awesome blog of  my lovely friend Narelle. But if not you can complete the blog hop loop by clicking the next banner below.

Just Add Ink #365...Sketch!

Happy Friday friends! It's time for a new Just Add Ink challenge. This week we have this fab sketch from Karren.
I opted to use an oval rather than rectangle and combined the Daisy punch with the Lovely Words thinlits to create a cute little friend card in crisp White & Dapper Denim.

As this was heading to a friend, l created a little gift box of Soy Melts using the mini acetate boxes to go with it.

The design team have created some lovely projects using the sketch, so pop over and check them out.

Stamp Review Crew...Labeler Alphabet!

 Stamp Review Crew

Its  Stamp Review Crew time again and for this hop we are showcasing the "Labeler Alphabet" This is another recent purchase for me and let me say I'm just a bit perplexed as to why l waited so long...It's awesome!
Such a fun way to add personalized sentiments to your projects and l love the kind of rough old school look it creates.
Also on my project is another super cute new product from the new Stampin Up! catalogue called "A little wild" it comes with coordinating dies and is really fun for creating a variety of cards and gift packaging for the little people.
Mind you, l have some ideas in mind for some older age group projects that I'm itching to try, l just need 10 days in my week.

If you have just arrived here from Val Moodys blog and her fabulous project you can keep happily hopping by clicking the "Next" banner below or click the Stamp Review Crew banner above to see the full list of crew participants.

Just Add Ink #364...Inspiration!

Hey there!...We have a new challenge happening over at Just Add Ink  Kelly has given us this lovely rustic copper inspiration to play with.

I have been totally loving all things copper for a couple of years now, so this inspiration was a delight to create with.
I have used the lovely Daisy Delight bundle and combined it with a partial die cut of the wood crate in the gorgeous Copper foil cardstock and also added some of the metallic Copper thread...Both of these delish copper products are some of my must have staples of late.

Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog to see all of the lovely samples from the design team.

Colour INKspiration #11

 Colour Inkspiration

Over at Colour INKspiration we have a lovely new colour combination to create with.  Have you just come from the lovely project created by Rebecca Scurr If not, you can continue around the hop by clicking the "NEXT" banner below. If you would like to join us and share your project click on the Colour INKspiration banner or link above to submit via our Facebook page.

I have created two projects using varying combinations of the colours and some brand new Stampin Up! goodies.
Bella and friends is a fairly new set for me and as l have a special little someone turning 3 in a few weeks, l decided to swap out the "You've got a friend" banner and added a 3. The balloon and bird both got a liberal dose wink of stella for some sparkle.

My second card uses the adorable "Little One" stamp set. I think this is my all time favourite baby set from Stampin Up! The detail on the tee pee was coloured using my SU markers direct to the image.
I used my fine tip glue pen to add some subtle texture to the pom pom string on the tee pee and also throughout the stars...You can see a close up below.

Now you are off to see the super cute project from Mel Pagano.

Just Add Ink #363...Anniversary!

What a week its been! Such devastating news coming out of London. So incredibly sad for everyone involved and their family and friends...Thinking of all the UK demos and hoping you are safe and well.

We have a new challenge happening over at Just Add Ink  and this week Chantell wants us to "ADD ANNIVERSARY" to our projects.
My first thoughts were a card for the man, but as he generally forgets what month and date this falls on...Yep,  33yrs on and l'm still hopeful...lol I decided to go with an alternate anniversary celebration and made a card for a special friend that is 1yr Cancer free...Definitely cause for celebration and of course a card.

With lots of new toys to play with, l have used the super cute "sweetheart" embossing folder and teamed it with my continuing obsession the "Lovely Words" thinlits. The sweet flowers and foliage are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set.

I have created a couple of cards using these products and decided while l had my camera out, l would share them all...You might want to make a cuppa, as its fairly photo heavy.

This one is my ultra CAS version!

And as you can see l have stepped it up a notch and used the debossed side of the folder to add some texture.

I continued the theme to the inside and also created a coordinating envelope as well.

The third card is using the same products, but l swapped out the greeting for a birthday one and used the embossed side of the folder on this one.

The inside is the same as above, but with a Happy Birthday sentiment.
