Just Add Ink #200...Inspiration! It's a Milestone Too!

Welcome to Just Add Inks 200th challenge...How fab is that!
This week saw celebrations galore, we had our 800th follower on the challenge blog and our 500th liker on Facebook...yay!

"Summery Goodness"...that's what l think of when l look at this weeks inspiration pic over at Just Add Ink..

I love the "Daisy" center piece and sweet vintage style and took my inspiration from those...The lovely heart wire work basket inspired my use of a heart theme and the printed acetate included in the quatrefancy specialty dsp pack from Stampin Up was perfect for creating a window panel.

How cute is that sweet green glass mini bottle? I found them during a Christmas shopping trip and two of them just found their way into my trolley...:0)
The DT have been inspired in so many different ways and have created some gorgeous projects, so don't forget to stop by their blogs and check them out!

Over the last few days I've been playing along with the "Online Card Classes" latest class called "Stenciled"...Lot's of fun techniques and gorgeous inspiration. But being a long weekend here for Australia day, I'm only now playing catch-up and watching all of the videos and attempting some of them. Hopefully over the next week l will get around to creating and sharing them with you.

So Very Grateful...

Love this new set from Stampin Up called "So Very Grateful" and after seeing a lovely PTI card from Heather Nicholls, l was inspired to ink it up and have a play. I really love that it could be block coloured being small images and used my markers in Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Pear Pizzazz & Old olive....So, so easy!

Afternoon blog friends!...I hope all of the Aussie followers are enjoying a fab "Australia Day" long weekend. It's a glorious Melbourne day here, not too hot, but clear & sunny!....Perfect for getting all of those odd jobs done outside and just generally enjoying life..:0)
I haven't ventured into my studio yet today, but l do have a cute & simple little gift box to share, using some of the SAB freebies from Stampin Up, available in a couple of days. I've used the Sweet Sorbet DSP and lovely thick twine in Summer Starfruit.

Just Add Ink #199....It's a Sketch & Sneak Peek!

Hey there everyone!...It's time to share this weeks great sketch challenge over at Just Add Ink...Loving this fabulous circle sketch from Tina and thoroughly enjoyed creating my DT sample for this week.

I used some of the lovely new goodies available from Stampin Up. The woodgrain background stamp, Spiral Rose Die and the very pretty new Gold twine & Sequins, plus l actually used my very neglected Doily Sizzlit as well...love how it looks in black..:0)

I decided to create an envelope that would accommodate the rose being a tad bulky and although still not suitable for mailing, it does the job for a hand over gift!

Don't forget to check out the lovely DT creations and play along if you can..:0)

Owl Punch Play date!....

Morning!...Just popping in to share some of the super cute crafty projects that my very clever & creative 11yr old niece made the other day!
Cassidy and l have a permanent booking for the first Tuesday of every school holidays (although being Christmas, it was a little later this time), we do the girl thing and get crafty..:0) She's always been my little crafty friend (her words) and she's great company, l really enjoy our time together.  Last play date she made a heap of really cute owl cards, so this time we did the packaging thing to match!

She whipped up a heap of these cute little owl tags all on her own.....Pretty clever huh!

I know she would love to hear what you think!

Retro Fresh.....File Folder card!

Morning all!...How cool is this dsp? Love, love, love it! It's another newbie from Stampin Up called "Retro Fresh" and as the name says, it's a whole pkt of super fun retro prints in a gorgeous combination of colours.
I decided to have a go at making one of the increasingly popular file folder cards that are swamping the net of late.
I used  the Envelope Punch Board and a standard card base, punch the left side and again @ the 3" mark flipped it over and repeated it and then trimmed off the excess with my paper trimmer to create the tabs and corner punched the square edges using the handy corner rounder behind the punch button.

Spiral Flower Die & another Sneak Peek!...

Here's the second flower l made yesterday, this one is using Real Red & Primrose Petals Core'dinations cardstocks and is such a lovely colour IRL, the two tones of cardstock give it a more realistic look and the distressing softens the whole effect.
As l mentioned in an earlier post this technique was inspired by the very talented Patty Bennett and you can find the YouTube tutorial.... Here.

I created the gift box using a piece of 9"x 9" cardstock, punched and scored @ the 3" mark on the "Envelope Punch Board". The sweet scalloped top tag was created with another new SU toy called the "Scalloped Tag Topper Punch" and the greeting is from the "Kind & Cozy" set in the annual Catalogue.

Kaleidoscope Sneak Peek!...

Good Morning!...It's time to get out your sunnies..:0) Today's project features Lot's of new goodies from SU and is "Oh so bright". The dsp is called "Kaleidoscope" and is totally cool, gorgeous bright colours and some fabulous geometric patterns that l just love.
I've paired it up with the coordinating "Triangle" punch which is bundled up with the Geometric stamp set and the super cute "Petite Petals" punch which is another bundle with a very sweet coordinating stamp set.

Spiral Flower Gift.....& Sneak Peek!

Hey there!...I finally got to spend time in my studio today, l cleaned, decluttered and best of all, had a little play. I'm just loving the new "Spiral Flower" die from SU and came across a great tutorial from Patty Bennett which you can find...... Here. She shares how to create a beautiful full and slightly flatter style of rose by cutting two of them from core'dinations cardstock and distressing. I used So Saffron & Daffodil Delight...I just love the shabby vintage look!

Hmmm....not to sure about that shadow stamping on the tag...it looks a little blurry to me, then again it could be my ageing eyes..lol
I'll be back in a bit to share the second rose and gift box with you and a few of the other new products coming soon.

Just Add Ink #198...."BLOG HOP"

Welcome to Just Add Ink's first 2014 challenge!

As you've probably guessed already, we have an amazing "Blog Hop" for you using one or more of the products pictured above. I chose to use all 3 to create my projects and had heaps of fun getting to know them better..:0)

If you are following the blog hop in order, you would have just arrived from the stunning projects Narelle created, they are ever so pretty and beautifully made. But if you have just popped in here direct, don't worry, you will find all of the design teams projects by following the arrow links below, or you can start at the begining from here.

To create the "BOX & BOW" l used the Envelope Punch Board and various combinations of the Label & Circle card Thinlits to create the gift card, roses & hearts!
I followed the info for box #1 of the fabulous tutorial by Tanya Bell over at StampingT blog available for $2. It comes complete with all you need to know to create 12 different sizes & shapes....Awesome value!

Grab a cuppa and get comfy, as there are lot's of blogs to visit and mine is rather heavy on the pic's..:0)

If you would like to play along, but don't own the Envelope Punch Board or the Card Thinlits, you can still join in with a flip style card as Chantell has done.
Now it's time for you to head over to see the very talented Patrice, just click on the arrow below and enjoy!
