Just Add Ink #102........

Good morning blogger friends, it's Just Add Ink time and this week we have a different challenge for you, we want you to CASE fellow "Design Team" member Kathy Tanner, go check out Kathy's beautiful creations, choose one you like and case it or put your own spin on it......
Here's my choice, l followed Kathy's layout but swapped out the stamps and colours to make it a little different.
I must confess to a boo boo, but one l didn't notice until after posting it to our team blog, not sure how l missed it as it is now so glaringly obvious, but these things happen as we all know, it's the small line of embossing just above the background emboss resist panel just incase you missed it..lol, something that is not so easy to see until you add the inks, but there you have it "Confession" made...:0)

This is Kathy's gorgeous card that l finally chose, there are so many beautiful cards on her blog it was hard to narrow it down to just one.

Just Add Ink #101........

Morning everyone, it's Just Add Ink time again and this week we have a sketch challenge for you, l hope you all enjoyed our Blog Hop last week and "Congratulations" to Narelle & Deb On winning the very handy Dauber storage cases for entering our 100th challenge and commenting on all of the DT blogs, congrats to you both!

I love the clean lines of this sketch and wanted to use the sweet new Hostess set in the current SU summer mini catalogue called "Up In The Air",  l went simple with my stamping using my SU Markers direct to rubber and then using my blender pen to colour in, it's such an easy little set to use.

The marker colours l used are So Saffron, Pool Party, Island Indigo & Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso for the sentiment from Sincere Salutations.
My mat layers are Island Indigo & Crumbcake DSP stacks & Island Indigo & Whisper White Cardstocks for the centre panels cut with the 2-1/2" Circle punch.
The Scalloped layer was cut using the SU Scalloped Square Die, to finish it off l pulled out the trusty old Janome and added a little crazy stitching border, some Pool Party ruffled ribbon and some co-ordinating Kaiser Bling, rounded the corners at the base and it was done!

Well that's it for now, l hope you can find the time to play along and don't forget to pop over and check out the fab DT creations.

A couple of "Clean & Simple" cards.......

Yes...l know it's a shock, l am posting twice in a week, something very unusual for me of late, but here l am, better late than never as they say.....
I have a couple of cards to share made with one of the gorgeous new Stampin-Up sets that will be available during Sale-a-Bration, which starts on the 24th of January, it's called "Fresh Vintage" and l think this would rank high up in my most favourite SU stamp sets, it is really lovely.

I have been a little obsessed with the "Clean & Simple" card style recently, which can vary greatly from the one layer stamping with a sentiment, to simple layering and stamping with minimal embellishment's, here's what made me smile today......other than the cuddles with my youngest grandson!

All of these were fairly quick to make and would work really well as "make n takes" for a workshop, l love that you can achieve so many different looks using this set and l still have a couple more ideas that l will hopefully find time to make in the next few days.

I have one more to share made with Stampin-Ups Circle Circus set and a few of the current In-Colours, this one is super simple and took a whole 5mins to make, perfect for that.... whoops, l forgot your Birthday type of card, as the circles progressed from left to right l stamped of the inks first, to give a softer colour beneath the sentiment and l like the gradual fade effect, l think it would be great in more masculine colours as well.

All products used are Stampin-Up.

Just Add Ink #100...Blog Hop

I'm finally back after a very enjoyable break and spending lots of fun Nanny time with my beautiful grandsons, catching up with friends and family and just generally having some timeout, so it's about time l ventured back into my studio for some crafting time..........

This week over at Just Add Inkwe are celebrating our 100th Challenge with a Blog Hop and the theme for this weeks challenge is "Just Add Crowns".....
If you are following the Blog Hop, you would have just come from Mae Collins Blog and her very cute Circus card.
I played around with a few ideas for this and finally settled on this one as my favourite and l have the perfect person to give this too!

I love the little embossed crowns on the Kaiser DSP and of course the Silver glimmer paper crown that was punched out using a Martha Stewart punch, l added a little more sparkle to the edge of the flower and also on the burlap leaves, here's a closer pic of these....

I added a little sparkle & a Birthday sentiment to the inside too........

Now if you click on the "Blog Hop Button" it will take you directly to Patrice Eastons Blog and her gorgeous creation......Don't forget to leave some comment love on each blog along the way and you will be in the draw for some "Blog Hop Candy".
We would love to have you play along with this weeks challenge and don't forget to link up if do!

Just Add Ink Scrapbooking challenge #1

"Happy New Year".........Wishing you all a fabulous 2012, with much Love, Laughter & Creativeness......

To kick start 2012 we have a brand new monthly Scrapbooking challenge happening over at Just Add Ink DelysRuth will be providing us with inspiration, so l am very much looking forward to playing along whenever possible.
This months theme is to just add "FIRSTS or One/1",  so this is my very First 12x12 Layout, my First child and my First Daughter to get married...........

I went with "One Perfect Day" using their Wedding invites as a starting point for colour, the photos themselves are not the best quality, but to me they are a perfect reminder of what a happy day they both had...their smiles say it all!
The Pearl pins are a keepsake from the day, they were Aaron & Husbands button hole pins, so l really wanted to include them in the LO....So overall I'm pretty happy with it for a first attempt.
Hopefully you can join in the fun and learn along with me.

"Hugs for a wonderful year ahead"
